This was my first time shooting at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue and it's
now one of my favorite synagogues to photograph. It has second floor balcony seating which
is an often overlooked place to shoot. I find that more often than not it's the best place because usually you can get more of the stained glass in the background which makes for stunning pictures.
Max wasn't able to have a party because, at the time of his bar mitzvah, covid was still
in full effect. So instead we made do with a mini NYC street photo session outside their apartment and even got to include the dog!
Pro tip: always look for unusual places to take photos...just because
you're taking "bimah photos" t doesn't mean every single shot need to be on the actual bimah.
