new york magazine wedding event

for the last three years i have been attending the new york magazine nymag.com/weddings/ wedding event. it is a great way to see what's happening in the industry and frankly, the only expo type thing i can stomach. it's ny mag http://nymag.com so the bar is set high and every year they manage to pull off this great event that so many people try and fail to do. well done!! nymag.com/weddingsevent

new glasses

i found a great new company called warby parker http://warbyparker.com i was shopping with some friends one afternoon and we wandered into steven alan http://stevenalan.com there was a board with different frames on it. the first pair i tried on called "owen" i loved. the salesgirl explained to me that i could not buy them in the store but that they had to be ordered through this website http://warbyparker.com and that with a code from steven alan i would get $5 off my purchase. i went to the website as soon as i got home and was so happy at what i discovered there. all frames with prescription lenses are $99 and they donate a pair of glasses to someone in need every time a pair of frames is bought!!!! amazing! they don't have a retail store, only a showroom located near union square. they also offer 'at home try on' which means they will send you up to 3 pair of frames to try on at home. amazing again! i already knew what i wanted so i placed my order for the "owen" and received my new pair of glasses within a week and a half. they arrived in a small box (no wasted packaging). i love my new glasses and the company who made them.

new york city opia bat mitzvah photography

i had the pleasure of shooting a bat mitzvah at opia http://opiarestaurant.com i had not been there since they had a major renovation. i was thrilled to see how fabulous the space is now. jimena was the event manager for the bat mitzvah and she did a great job making sure everything ran smoothly. sal lomonaco from academy floral http://www.academyfloral.com/ did a beautiful job with the tables and the entertainment was provided by shine events http://shineevents.com i've worked with these guys before and they are very good at what they do and consummate professionals. joe, who is a videographer with shine, was so good that he got a shout out from olivia the bat mitzvah girl.

it was great working with these vendors and i hope to work with them again soon:)

vacation part 4...south beach!!!

i do not think of myself as a south beach kind of girl but i have to admit....we had a ball. carrie and i drove down after the wedding and met up with dan, and our friends teri & bryan at the delano http://www.delano-hotel.com/en-us/#/home/ this hotel is gorgeous and very dramatic. the interior was designed by philippe starck.

the first night we were in miami we went to a knicks game. it was one of the first games they played after acquiring carmello anthony. it was a great game, the knicks won and dan was very happy!!!!

we rented a car one day and drove down to the keys.
